Rioja at the ProWein 2019
For the fifth time, the Spanish DOCa Rioja is presenting itself with an impressive stand (10 B 62) at ProWein in Düsseldorf. From 17-19 March 2019, exclusive MasterClasses will take place there every day, with a very special highlight: Master of Wine Tim Atkin will present Reservas with special ageing potential. A large selection of quality wines will be available for tasting at the Rioja & Tapas Bar, accompanied by tapas. In the lounge area, Rioja wineries can reserve tables and hold their meetings.
A total of twelve MasterClasses will be held by Spanish experts during the three days of the fair: the certified Rioja Educators David Schwarzwälder, Yvonne Heistermann, Peer F. Holm and Antonio Aguado as well as Jürgen Mathäß will present Rioja's white wines, Rosados, Vinos de Zona and Vinos de Pueblo, as well as wines from excellent vintages, Gran Reservas and Reservas with great ageing potential. Due to its great popularity last year, the Wine & Food Pairing Seminar will also be offered again. The masterclasses will conclude with the topic of Reservas, presented by Master of Wine Tim Atkin on Tuesday at 12 noon.
For those who prefer a free tasting, the Rioja & Tapas Bar is the place to be: sommelier Götz Wiedemann will be pouring wines from the Gran Reserva, Reserva, Crianza and Genérico categories. Trade visitors can choose from around 100 fine Rioja wines here. There will also be delicious tapas from Rolling Taste.
The spacious lounge and meeting area is ideal for small meetings over wine and tapas.
At the information counter, visitors will receive information on all Rioja exhibitors throughout the trade fair and assistance in making contacts.
