"Korn kann mehr" ("Grain can do more") is the motto of the house and if you have tasted something from the Ehringhausen distillery, you know what is meant. On the border between the Ruhr and Münsterland regions, the distillery is located in Werne, near Lünen and Dortmund.
High-quality liqueurs, brandies, spirits and other spirits are also produced there, not only grain - truly without compromise: only the best ingredients are used (ideally from nearby), lovingly selected and gently processed. From the grain and the firing of the stills to the exotic botanicals for the gins, everything is produced very sustainably.
But it's really the lager grain products that define the house. The "Little Lord" series serves as the flagship of the house: the best lager grains from Ehringhausen end up in various wooden barrels: Rum, Sherry, Bourbon Whisky, Brandy, Wine and even Islay Whisky casks. These are combined to bring together the harmonious aspects of various maturations: the Lords (now five varieties) are all very different: from very mild and vanilla to powerful and smoky.
We are therefore very pleased that Georg Glitz-Ehringhausen, the master distiller and creator of these high-quality and regional top spirits, will be coming to the WeinPalette on Saturday 14 September 2019 to show us his products.
It starts at 6pm (in the gatehouse) and the official part of the event lasts about 2.5 hours. In an uncomplicated atmosphere, we will taste the products of the Ehringhausen distillery together with Georg: from eggnog to gin, there is a lot on offer! Participation in this tasting costs 59,99€ - including a 0,5L bottle of "Dinkelkorn im Holzfass gereift" (worth 31,99€) which you can take away directly on the evening. Unfortunately, places are very limited and only pre-paid tickets are considered registered.
